It's weird how this is still the best 3D Sonic game even over 15 years later.

While the actual action levels are extremely cool and lots of fun, the overworlds suck. Suck bad.

Dreamcast is capable of pumping out some seriously nice graphics, but the design on the overworld in Sonic Adventure fucking blows. They should've just left them out like in SA2.

>people liking Sonic Adventure 2 more

The first Sonic Adventure had the best gameplay physics/controls of any Sonic game.
Controlling Sonic in SA2 was a clunky experience and a huge step down.

Awww yeaah. We can finally have serious Sonic Adventure 1-2 discussions without the fur-fags from /v/.

Hopefully.

Is this the turning point where everything went to shit or did the decline start even earlier?

So the Sonic Adventure games were a huge part of my childhood. I didnt have the chance to play them when they were first released on the Dreamcast, but I eventually caught up with them when they were ported to the Gamecube. They blew my mind as a child, and I logged literally more that a hundred hours into that SA2 Chao Garden, but after playing through both recently, I realize that they havent aged quite as well as other games from that era, due to the dodgy controls, glitchy levels, etc etc.

Although I still love both games because they were a big part of my childhood, even through my nostalgia goggles I notice that they havent aged very well. Which makes me curious: how were these games viewed by the public and you, the player, circa 1999? Did these games blow your mind? Did people freak out when they saw these games in action?

Discuss...

Why is this game so unpopular these days? I remember tossing this bad boy into my dreamcast for the first time and being blown away. It's got an amazing sound-track, a decent plot, the levels were epic, each character was unique. You really can't argue that for even adventure 2,especially unique play... Am I overly nostalgic to this game?
