I can't believe I let you faggots meme me into trying this. I grew up with Doom/Quake but, neckmeats on here kept telling me how it was the peak of shooter design and I was missing out, so I gave it an honest chance for about 6 hours.

First off, I never want to hear anyone call Quake "brown" ever again. You want brown? Play Blood. There's brown, there's poop brown, there's old-dog-turd-that's-becoming-slightly-grey-from-age brown, and then more brown. Beyond the fact that diarrhea brown is the only color in the game, everything else about the game's visual style is equally insulting to the senses. Everything is so fucking hideously ugly, it's hard to believe anyone could actually enjoy looking at this game. Every single area in the game looks like a graveyard, funeral home, or the finished basement of an 85 year old korean war veteran. I realize the aesthetic is supposed to be horror inspired, but it isn't spooky or atmospheric, it's just depressing. Also, every weapon looks like it was drawn by a teenager, and the enemies are basically all some derivation of a butt ugly ragdoll with a tengu mask looking face.

Then, unfortunately, there's the gameplay. For a game called Blood, there really isn't all that much action. The game feels barren, and when you do encounter enemies, you just use TNT or the shotgun and blow them into comically exaggerated gibs. Enemies pose very little challenge unless you run into a room filled with hitscanners, and most weapons are irrelevant other than the two already mentioned. It seems like the game was designed to encourage occasional, short encounters where you kill 1-2 enemies and marvel at le heckin epic blood and gore, and then go back to playing pookaboo in the geriatric care facility tier environments while holding a can of hair spray.

I'm sorry guys, this game is fucking shit. It's not even a matter of subjectivity or nostalgia, this is a fundamentally bad game, and you should feel bad for liking it.
