I am thinking of getting into Laserdisc.
Mostly because I would like to watch classic anime movies and pause them frame by frame.

But I have heard that you are not supposed to pause and go frame by frame with Laserdisc because it damages the disc?, damages the player?

Is this true? Does it matter if the disc is CAV or CLV?
If I cannot pause and frame by frame on LDs then I will just watch downloaded anime on an IPS monitor.
