I've searched, in vain, to find traces of the Castlevania 1-3 devs. No one, not even the Japanese, have any info on them.

It might take some people in Japan trying to hunt them down.

I've gone through facebook pages with similar names, but there are simply too many it's a needle in a haystack without any additional clues, and there's no guarantee they'd even be on facebook.

A lot of these game devs in the 80's were kids right out of University, so they were 20-30, which would make them 50-60 now. So they're likely still around and not dead.

What's your favorite Castlevania game? Do you prefer classicvania or metroidvania?

I have an nes emulator for wii... and it scrolls really bad and is blocky... most know what this means and why this happens, but does anyone know how to fix it or is there just no good nes emulator for wii?

pre iga castlevania games were never good with the exception of rondo.

The vast, vast majority of you never played them when they came out so you are not free to have your own opinions on this. The series is "legendary" so your opinion was formed for you and you regurgitate what you think is correct.

I am 34. Castlevania was not good. Every other good side scroller outclassed it. CV2 was better. CV3 was not good. Super CV4 was not good.

and then SoTN is the best single player game ever made.

Castlevania, after you beat the game it throws you back into stage one with everything doing more damage, and bats fucking everywhere

Can we have a thread for the pre-metroid type Castlevania games? They're probably my favorite types in the series, even though I am completely terrible at them.

Why does everyone always praise the controls for this game? They really aren't that good.

1987 is really tough between Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Mega Man, Metal Gear, and Contra...

My favorite out of those has to be Castlevania though.
