Movers cost a lot more in my area. Even worse there are no technicians to hire that can work on CRT monitors, and my local municipality has high fines for disposing of CRTs, so keeping the dead husks are pretty much required.

Before the release of the wired 360 controller and Xinput, it was a lot of searching for console controller adapters to USB. The USB Sega Saturn pads were my goto in that time. Prior to USB, in the DOS days, there wasn't much of quality but most of the games were played with KB+M or flight stick fortunately.

There weren't many options back then.

I too had to settle for lesser than console controllers in those days. Are there any adapters for console control pads to gameport?

It was either the one they made, the Capcom one, or the Gravis Gamepad back then. Of those 3, I still prefer the Capcom one, and I have not tried the Gravis Gamepad. The Interact pad is a bit big for average sized hands and still not that good at giving a console experience on DOS.

You are not. You're just like me, as I think the Mortal Kombat series are some of the worst video games I've ever tried, and I've played a lot of games. The series robbed me of victims/opponents in Super Street Fighter 2 (Turbo) in the arcades, and I was appalled after trying the first MK that such shit gameplay was able to enthrall so many making me go right back to the Street Fighter cabs. The MK series has consistent awful art/style thrown together, with lazy digitized characters to move onto ugly polygons. The story even went that they just slapped the game together in days shows how lazy and a strange accident it found any success at all.

It was the only 6-face button controller available to DOS at one point. I liked it more than the Gravis Gamepad.

Who would main a grappler? That seems like a real hard life.
