>Making a 32-level megawad is a LOT of work, making a gameplay mod is a LOT of work, even just making new textures or sprites for the characters (be frankensprited or completely new) is also a LOT of work.
Fucking TELL ME ABOUT IT, man.

It's gonna be worth it, I'll never stop telling myself that, but it's draining me.

>another shitty Ubisoft tower sandbox clone, or Ubisoft themselves degrading the formula when it was actually a lot better almost a decade ago
>another shitty Call Of Duty that is as boring as the last ten ones and with shit cut out and resold as DLC
>shitty controllers where the charger cables stop working and the analog sticks start to drift, Sony and Nintendo don't think this is a problem they need to address
>subscription service where you pay an annual fee to get to play extremely shit emulations of classic games
>$70 demaster of three classic games which look unfathomably ugly and play like absolute dogshit, largely based on older, existing bad ports which already had the same flaws nearly a decade ago, also cutting out a lot of content
>low quality, faux-retro "boomer shooters" which intentionally look like shit because the devs are aesthetically illiterate, and which have unimaginative (often procedurally generated) levels that are not fun to explore or fight in, with boring and unsatisfying enemy and weapon design
>more pozzed retard politics shoved into places they don't belong, either new games, or uncalled for alterations of old games
I don't HATE modern games, but anything which gets much exposure anywhere just either looks uninteresting, has some distinct flaw that isn't going to be remedied (such as analog stick drift), or looks outright bad. I'm more at the point where LESS than one new game a year interests me at all, and I just focus on games from circa 2015 and earlier.

Had a lot of fun with PS3, had some fun with the PS4 but honestly haven't touched it all that much, but I just don't see any compelling reason to get a PS5. Switch is vaguely interesting, but the drift is unacceptable, and there's honestly not that much on it that interests me. It feels like it would be much more worth my time and money to set up my N64 to my flat screen, get a flashcart, and then fixing up the controller, then to buy an 8th gen console.

I'll take that into consideration.
