Thanks. Have a front angle on the seating area with the lights on. That CRT is a PVM now and that shelf's been rearranged to have a wider assortment of consoles displayed but the whole place ha gotten pretty dusty. Now that I've had my second son the partying has pretty much completely ceased and I almost never use that area at all.

That one's going into my SAC-1 so there won't be anywhere for the cats to lay on it. My big ass plasmas get hot as hell and even though they're arm mounted they still manage to drape themselves over pic related. I often find kittycat pawprints near the top of the screen - although they've been much better behaved in general for the last year that I've been allowing them to go outside.

Nah it's just for the heat upstairs. I'd put up a ceiling but the people who originally excavated the cellar were some 19th century midgets. Bottom of the joists are 6 foot flat. If I were growing I'd just do it in the greenhouse. Nobody around here would give a fuck about a couple female clones.

Nah, the ceilings are too low already - just six foot and I'm 6'6" so if I raised the floor and covered the rafters I'd practically have to crawl, or roll around on a desk chair I guess.

Can confirm. I lugged the 28" in pic related all the way up out of my basement and across the back lots to my mom's house when I replaced it with the 20" PVM that's there now. I'm a beast but it was still a real schlep.

13/14 inch will feel plenty big enough sitting on a desk with you. Some anon in another thread had an opportunity to pick up an 8 inch BVM for $25 and I told him that should be fine for a desk too as long as it's elevated.

Oh yeah, I have a real old plasma downstairs and if I send it the wrong signal it makes a horrible tearing sound that I've never left it turned on long enough to be sure if comes from the power supply or the speaker.

Not necessarily the stuff in my pics but there are deeper layers of strata.

My goal is to get some of these newer multiple/parts consoles swapped out with rarer consoles and maybe a somewhat nicer "display" shelf.

I like your shelves. I'd like to find some matching stackable narrow bookcases like that cheap to inspire myself to organize and display one example of each of my consoles and retro computers in this spot while putting my duplicates deeper back in "storage".

Postin' the cave. That CRT has been replaced with a 20" PVM since then. Will post the upstairs battle station I share with the wife and rugrat on request.
