How can a game be so fucking clunky to play and still be a total masterpiece?

God damn I love this game.

What are some games that you fully acknowledge either have massive flaws or didn't age well in some way, but still love?

Mega Man Legends can be real damn clunk with its controls. I've developed weird tactics like zig-zag strafing around to pick up zenny, which just doesn't seem like something you should have to do. The controls honestly haven't aged very well. Also pretty much every enemy in the game can be beaten by simply circle strafing around it and 95% of all the special weapons are basically pointless (barring the Mines since you can use them in the Blumebear fight, the Vacuum Gun and the Drill Arm (only because it's required to explore everywhere)). And for another thing the game is pretty short. Despite all this I love Legends to death. I've beat it at least a dozen times and I'll beat it at least a dozen more.

this has got to be the greatest scam of our time.
im not sure what people see in this game, but if i had to guess it's the art direction and overall aesthetics because it certainly can't be the gameplay people like about this game because it chokes on sodomite semen.

the better sequel managed to unfuck most of the flaws, specifically the controls. the first Resident Evil had smoother movement and shooting than this shit, is way more playable than this bullshit and that game did it with fixed camera angles against low rez jpegs.

oh i didnt mention the camera in MM legends? the camera in this game can break colision so fucking easily you can bug the walls out of view and see the entire level rendered out ahead of you.

i highly doubt this shit was playtested.

play the sequel instead which at least supports dual analogue sticks.
