Castlevania 64 and I'm not sorry. Call it clunky, janky, archaic, or whatever you'd like, but there's something special about it's atmosphere, tone, and aesthetic that I have a certain fondness for. Play this game in October with the windows open if you don't understand what I'm talking about.

I agree.
They came out a bit late into the N64's life, but still managed to get good impressions.
Historical revisionism made zoomers believe people hated them, though.

It had moderately positive reception back when it came out.
The flak was only recent, and yeah AVGN's review might have something to do with it, but a lot of people hate on 5th gen 3D games that aren't the most popular ones like SM64 or MGS.

That's the 2nd game, Legacy of Darkness, unfortunately I don't have that game, the one I'm talking about is the first one, simply titled Castlevania (refered commonly as CV64)
