I recently beat the 20th anniversary edition of Another World/Out of this World. Tried it once like two years ago, took a break. Finished it this week, then beat it in 20 minutes the day after. It’s cool that it doesn’t hold your hand, but there are a few areas that are just plain cryptic. In terms of the updated art style, some backgrounds looked really nice, while others looked like the soul was stripped away, and the characters looking like construction paper cutouts was an eyesore, so I stuck to classic graphics. The intro is kino, and escaping with your alien inmate is cool, but it seems that these sort of games lack any replayability whatsoever unless you’re a speedrunning troon. All in all, it’s trial and error with style.
