It's fun. I liked the new combat a lot, and seeing old parts of the game recreated was really cool. I'm okay with it not being a straight remake, some of the new plot is cool and I've already replayed FFVII so it keeps things interesting not knowing exactly what comes next. Though the time ghosts and some other changes are pretty corny. I think the original has better pacing, the remake makes you do some pointless fetch quests and drags some parts out. But overall I enjoyed it a ton, and I'm looking forward to part 2.
