You are off your fucking rocker, mate. I sure hope this is bait, but I know it's not. Item depth doesn't exist and any semblance of choice died the moment they started pushing the absurdly overpowered set bonuses. Not only did that kill the sliver of fucking item choice, but it also destroyed skill choice at the same fucking time. It's really quite impressive. The whole game is now "nuke the entire screen repeatedly until the boss spawns that 1 shots you, kill the boss before you get 1 shotted 5 times while using predetermined setups that outweigh everything else by a factor of 50,000". D2s sorc doesn't even begin to touch that level of advantage.

Don't compare that fucking joke of a game to D2, Grim Dawn, PoE or any other game worth the title.

The ONLY thing, the single thing D3 has over the rest is fluidity of gameplay. It feels fantastic to play, but without any depth all that achieves is an army of brainwashed idiots who think flashy effects and smooth combat somehow makes a good game. Take that and shove it up your ass. You have no taste or objectivity. None at all.

Because every other game puts the loot part too far ahead of the the actual game part...and I'm not just talking about gameplay either. Not to say that the gameplay wasn't great for it's time, but music, atmosphere, dialogue. No one puts in as much effort anymore in those areas for a game like this. Yes compared to today, D2 feels kinda crap to play, but accounting for time it still blows everything else out of the water.

The devs of today have assumed that overpowered feeling skills, "fluid" gameplay and much more consistent dopamine drops are what people want....and you normies prove them right every fucking time by eating that slop right up and asking for the next one.

D2 had a fantastic balance of decent feeling gameplay, rewarding loot and a great story/world to hold it. Diablo 3 has incredible feeling gameplay, but dogshit loot depth and a below mediocre story, plus the wow influences on the artstyle fucked it too.

Path of exile has great loot, middling world, but god awful feeling gameplay.

Grim dawn feels pretty good, has great loot, but no one gives a fuck about the world or characters, and it's kinda generic in that aspect too.

After all these years I'm beginning to think either the audience doesn't exist to necessitate this kind of "has everything" game...or the industry literally cannot make it and D2 was a fluke for it's time. It's possibly both.
