Amiga Castlevania is a turd that can't even be called a proper game, it does nothing better than the NES game. The music and the graphics both have the potential to be technically better, since Amiga is more powerful than the NES, but it goes for a horrid art direction (seriously what the fuck is up with these old ladies on stage 1? They don't look like zombies, they look like some wacky nickelodeon cartoon), the rest of the sprites all look retardedly made, badly copies from the originals. Only some backgrounds are OK, but they look as good as the average as any other mid-range Amiga game. It's very amateurs.
The sound is horrorific. Everything is off key and completely off tempo, it's sad to think that the only good music in this game isn't any of the actual Castlevania music, but the intro music that has a more characteristic Amiga-sounding music, but sounds nothing like Castlevania. The actual CV tracks were all done by someone who didn't know any music, it was probably just a guy who toyed around with Amiga's sound software and tried to copy the originals. It was a more than awful job.

But that's not even the worst part.
The worst comes with the actual gameplay and the choppiness of it all. Nobody can defend that shit, not even you.

The MSX game might not be a version of the original Famicom game, but at least it DOES look, sound and control like it. The game has a different design that's not as good as the original, but it still works as a game, it's well made. Amiga Castlevania is just bad, it's not defendable without looking like an idiot.

Master of Darkness is pretty good, but a bit on the easy and repetitive side, dontcha' think?
