This is all 675 licensed US NES games.

Go to random.org, set it to generate a number from 1-675. Whatever game you draw, you have to play it and beat it. Good luck if you draw Abadox, you're going to need it.

In order to prevent the free-for-all that led to the video game crash, Nintendo of America imposed fairly stringent Q/C standards on NES games. These included the following:

>game developers had to have assets of at least $100k and a proper office building
>games had to be properly completed and beatable; a VHS tape of the game ending would be submitted as proof
>games were to be a fully rounded out experience for the player and no minigames
>games had to have a standardized control scheme that included using the Start button to start the game--a pause feature, also using Start was required as well
>games had to have a title screen
>it was recommended to not put score/life/health counters on the extreme top and bottom of the screen as some TVs might cut them off
>games had to be family-safe and not include graphic violence, sexual content, religion, or political references
>unarmed NPCs could not be killed by the player
>human or animal enemies could not carry guns, only robots or aliens
>characters, when killed, were to just disappear from the screen and a sprite of their dead body could not be shown
>developers were recommended to not use undocumented hardware quirks of the NES that might not work on all console revisions

I've never really played NES. What are some of the more accessible games?

And don't tell me all the games are easy or something similar because I know some are notoriously impossible. Also obviously no kids educational games.

Not sure if this is best to post here or /g/ so I'll just do both.
I bought an orignal NES at a hobby shop. Long story short I disassembled the console, cleaned it, and disabled the lock out chip. It was working perfectly until a little bit ago, now whenever I try playing a game I just get a green screen of death. any suggestions?

What games on this thing do you think could still be enjoyed and beaten by a zoomer?

Age Verification: When the SNES came out, what did people start referring to this console as in conversation?
