But you extract them into your RCT folder and overwrite the old files, right? My base game is the Steam version and I have to rename the .exe to get Steam to accept it.

Did you extract the .zip? I tried to download the latest version and got these files. Otherwise just do whatever Fridolin say, it's probably more straight forward and correct.
