Played for 1 hour got bored. Went back to sreet fighter 2.

Should I play this game?

Any of you ever play this gem? It actually is one of my favorites in the series.

I know it's a Zelda ripoff but it had an interesting story with lots of cool characters and some genuinely fun gameplay.

Yes! Called Final Fantasy: USA in Japan, it was an attempt to get Americans interested in the RPG by making things simple.... You can see all enemies in the dungeons, and they do not move, just block your way most of the time...

There was no exploring on the overworld, you would navigate a map with linked points, similar to Super Mario World.

And if you lost a battle, you could try the battle again without getting a Game Over screen.

Not a whole lot of customization. You got several different types of weapons and armor, but not the varied choices like most of the older Final Fantasy games... To be fair, most Final Fantasy players rely on certain builds anyway.

Many people didn't like it... I thought it was fun.

let me be clear, this is not a game with bad memories, au contrare, I had excellent memories, but I can't go back and play it anymore since it's so fucking boring. The music still kicks ass.

The difference between my 20 year old attention span and my 5 year old one.

What's /vr/ opinion on this game ? I think it receives WAY too much hate. It's light-hearted pure fun, real gem of my youth.

Also, it has a better OST than every single other FF that came out on the SNES.

Final fantasy Mystic Quest
I liked it as a kid, but i played it recently and it's shit. It's not even that it aged poorly, it's just that it is and always has been a bad game.

So basically I want to understand something.
I haven't played the game, mind you.

What does FFMQ have anything to do with the other FFs.

Is it some kind of a "spiritual sequel?"

I'm playing all the FFs now and I was wondering if this is some kind of spinoff or what.

It's unclear for me what's its place. Some anon said it's like 6.5, that i was supposed to be FF7.

TL;DR Basically, I'm asking how good it is, if you recommend it, and a little back story, etc.
