GOEMON TIME!

I just started playing MN starring Goemon again after a lot of time since I last did a playthrough, like in 2007, god damn this game is fun as always, exquisite design, it makes me mad to know I will probably never play a Goemon game like this again since the original team is all scattered and doesn't exists anymore in Konami, as far as I know.

I just got through the Ghost Toys Castle, I always loved how surreal and trippy that level was (yeah I know, that's something you can say about the whole game). The pool table, the crane machine, the shogi pieces floating on water... this game pours creativity all the time, it's almost shocking after playing so many uninspired games.

Anyway, yeah, I'm having the time of my life replaying this, I shouldn't have waited this long... I remember last time I played it, in 2007, I said "This game is GOAT, I shouldn't play it too often to not wear it out", but honestly, it's one of those games I should annually do a whole playthrough, it's not that long anyway.
Last year I finished Great Adventure for the first time though, 100% with all entry passes, it was also one great game. I need to play the older ones to completion.

I'll have to give it a try, more so now that I know the Goemon guy worked on it.

GGA is hard, but you just gotta keep playing. It has the feeling of those old NES platformers, except in N64 graphics.
Boss battles are also pretty hard, you just gotta keep very cautious at all time, read well the patterns and don't give up.
The impact battles become much easier once you correctly do the special moves (press start, and you will see a list of all the special moves you can do)... after that it's all timing, remember to switch from Impact to Ms. Impact (aim for the other impact and press R)... Impact battles are hard too, expect to lose, but once you get the hang of it it's fun, as well as bizarre.

It's not an extremely long game (much shorter than the first Goemon 64 game), but it's challenging and the levels are pretty big and have multiple paths, you will need to go back to old levels to search for more entry passes (theres 44 entry passes in total, once you get them all... there's some small surprises)

As someone else said, the poles' trick is to press and hold the stick UP when you jump. It's always tricky until you figure it out, then you'll breeze through them.
