PSIV is probably the one that aged best, though I also love the original.
I'd say II and III aged the worst, but II is still good for the story. Use a guide.

VGA 31khz monitor or 15.6khz?
I like 14" monitors for that but it depends on your desk size.
Mine's a Panasonic BT-H1390YN. Similar models are the Panasonic BT-H1390Y, the JVC BM-1400PN, and the JVC BM-1400PN-A.
They're so similar that you can use the service manuals for any of them interchangeably. All are manufactured by Matsushita, which owned JVC at the time and has since renamed itself to Panasonic.
