I played through 2 recently with the gamecube port. The lack of a quickturn or a button to aim towards enemies caught me off guard but it was great fun. I did Claire A then Leon B.

Classic RE will never get old to me, and I will never understand the hate for tank controls. I really hope Capcom stops remaking RE games and just rereleases the classic games untouched or with some of the QOL improvements other versions of classic RE games add (randomizer, doorskip, blood color, etc) so everyone can enjoy them. Unfortunately it seems that might never happen.
