The FDS is what's driving the shipping up. They look beautiful under a Famicom, but they aren't worth buying. They're just so incredibly unreliable. You could get a RAM adapter and the FDS Stick instead. Even the EverDrive N8 has tolerable FDS support (the audio is the weak link). I just got an original Famicom and a Super Fami for $56 shipped from Akiba games. I've never paid more the $30 shipped for a loose original Famicom.

Just so you know, pretty much everyone who pirates software that's changed hands also pirate tons of indie games. In the end, they really only care about what they can get for free. The "I only want to support the original devs" argument is, in the real world, very rarely used beyond justification for "I don't want to give money to someone I don't like."

What typically happens is this:
>pirates supposed "abandonware"
>"The money doesn't go to the devs anyway"
>pirates Indie game
>"I'll pay for it when I have money"
>doesn't like game: "I wasn't going to buy it anyway"
OR
>likes game: "It's too late for my money to make a difference now"
OR
>likes game: "Oh, but this other game is on sale now!"

What I'm REALLY curious to see is how many successful Indie games are propped up by people who typically pirate vs. people who always acquire games honestly.

OCD isn't typically general compulsion to correct anything that one doesn't like. "Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder" is hypenated because it covers two main areas of behavior: obsession and/OR compulsions; the two shouldn't immediately be assumed to happened together (ie. don't believe that OCD means someone is compelled to obsess over something). Anyway, people with OCD tend to have a few specific obsessions and/or compulsions, though people with severe forms of the disorder can show multiple such behaviors. There's also the issue of possible co-morbidity, which is the event in which someone displays behavior indicative of suffering multiple simultaneous disorders (and some disorders are statistically more likely to be present together in such cases), which may make it more difficult to correctly diagnose an individual without further observation.
