Pretty much every card you see in the first five hours of playing DDS is deeply iconic to me. I demand a Yamatano Dragon Scroll retrain.
The games in general give you a pretty warped impression of the current meta, even in Ultimate Masters 2006 there are dozens of cards that either never got localized (even after cutting tons of old OCG stuff out) or didn't see release for a year or two or three or more. My favorite example is Monster Eye. It's in DDS as a very early Monster and then appears in like all the GBA games with a genuinely good effect, drop 1k LP to get a Poly back from the GY. Pretty good. I was SHOCKED to find the card wasn't even printed outside of Japan until 2010. The games exist in this strange hybrid format.
Also, games like this were literally the source of some cards, such as >>8294910 Dark Magician Girl here. DMG's first printing was as a prize card in promotion of DDS (well, Tri-Holy God Advent there)
