Ninja Gaiden is embarrassingly outdated when you consider that Revenge of Shinobi came out less than a year later.

This game looks pretty fucking rad. But it's too hard.

I used to play the compromised version as part of the Genesis 6 Pack, but I recently got ahold of the original version, with Rambo, Batman, Godzilla and all.

I learned early on how to enjoy getting my shit wrecked. Thank you, Revenge of Shinobi.

What is it about hard games that always make you keep coming back?

Every time I play one and fail miserably, I always say that I'll never touch it again. Yet I always get the urge to play it again a short while after that.

I know this is going to rustle some jimmies but it was too hard for me when i was a kid. And since it was the game i progressed the least in i always felt obligated to play it. I know it's not shitty but it really pissed me off. The furthest i ever got was just past the waterfall cliff level. I always want to appreciate these games but they're just too hard for me.

Can we have a Shinobi thread?

Been playing G.G. Shinobi via 3DS recently. Great game. The second one is awesome, also. I wish Sega wouldn't neglect the series. The recent 3DS Shinobi is interesting and has some good elements, but a lot of the level design is sloppy and the graphics are fairly ugly.

Alright, /vr/, thoughts on the series?

I hated the sound on the Genesis for the longest time until recently when I hooked my system back up, plugged my headphones into it and listened to the music in Revenge of Shinobi and Streets of Rage. Fucking blew my mind.

Regarding copies of my games: When Symmetry Entertainment was closed, we had a break in and all copies of our products were stolen (including my framed gold masters). You may wish to try and reach someone at Kinotrope in Tokyo as we co-produced Garage and Suikoden with them and they may have copies available. I have not been in touch with them for over 10 years and no longer have any contact information though.

I'm also glad to hear that you enjoyed Tyrian 2000 and Revenge of Shinobi as they were also some of my favorites to produce.
