My Disc 2 of picrel was glitched and wouldn't load a particular seaside city. So years and years later I had a friend with a copy and borrowed it to complete the game

I've played like 3 of the games posted so far and maybe 10 PS1 games total, but I can easily tell my favorite one. If only the Vita didn't have so much of an input lag in its official PS1 emulator.

This game should've been given so much more. People called it the FF7 killer when it was being discussed before release, and you know what? If they just polished it more, gave it a little more respect, it might actually have contended with it and had sequels and remasters today. I played FF6,7, and 8 back when they released, but I could only give you snippets of experience. I remember everything from this game because it was given love and care, but unfortunately not enough.

Few hours into this just got my Dragoon powers its pretty underwelming so far does it get better?

The translation is pretty awful and the music and locations mediorcre too.

I was expecting something similar to the final fantasies of this era were my expectations too high?

Was looking for RPG to play on Vita. Came across this but never got to play it. How does it compare to FF 7 / 8? Does it have a lot of content (i.e. sidequests)?

Basically debating between this or FF8. What would you choose /vr/?

No, no it is not. I know that after Dirge of Cerberus even diarrhea would be acceptable but CC is not a good game at all. It has a fanfic-tier story and characters which take a big shit on the lore carried by gameplay on par with the clunkiest, most poorly-controlling and unresponsive PSX game you can imagine.

Git gud you fucking plebs. If you actually play the game for awhile the additions become easy and they alone make the gameplay/combat way better than FFVII

Its a JRPG. FFVII had a ridiculously complex story.

Legend of Dragoon was a great game. The atmosphere and scenery were too notch and the addition system shook things up from the basic "press circle to attack". Ill give you the fact that the characters are a little bland and the graphics could be better but people shit on this game FAR too often. I personally think its up there as one of the best RPGs of the generation.
