I will always be surprised that people didn't like Banjo Tooie, also Downhill Jam is the only good non-Neversoft console Tony Hawk game excluding remakes.

Because it's glitchy as fuck and had slowdown because like PS2 all Crash games it was rushed, Nitro-Fueled has it's tracks and drift gimmick and does the game right.

No, the one game is quite popular.

Was it really "too big"?

I'm about to enter college in a few days, so I bought a SF30 Pro gamepad along with a clip to play games on my phone between classes. When I was a kid, my Dad taught me how run an emulator on my PC, and I loved all the Banjo games- even Nuts & Bolts, which I always defended to my friends that lamented the lack of Threeie (I would've loved it too, but N&B was an excellent spinoff).

But replaying the games on my phone now, while I still enjoy Kazooie just as much as I did when I was a little kid, I find Tooie to be exceptionally tedious and boring. Sure, the gloomy atmosphere is definitely really interesting and the difficult puzzles and minigames are fun, but the amount of backtracking and how much levels feel like a maze to traverse is exhausting, I could only get a few jiggies at a time before I get tired of running back and forth. Overall, it still occupies a place in my heart for all the great memories I have of it, but it's such a flawed and frustrating game in hindsight.

What other games has revisiting made you feel this way, /vr/?
