This indeed was only a problem of software developers (well, most devs, since there indeed were some games that supported at least a second button). The Amiga not only was very capable to use more then one button, later (with OS Version 3.1) came the lowlevel library which supported even more buttons, which I guess was done in preparation for the CD32 and it's controller.

Fucking Lionheart!
One of the later Amiga games and it still fucking looks stunning. Thalion Software put every trick they had into their last Amiga game and it shows.
