In that case I'm probably going to have to think back to my NES days... at least with the games that CAN be beaten. Most of the SNES games I remember having either I beat, or they were just ok and I didn't care that much about them, or both.

Solar Jetman on NES is the first that comes to mind, even with what few level codes I could find I was never able to even get halfway through this game, although I liked it. I think it was level 3 or 4 that was my limit... and the box claimed it had 12 levels (not counting bonus levels and the final level IIRC).

... now I am tempted to re-visit it. But I know I will do even WORSE and the controls and physics are sure to be a lot harder to deal with these days.

Not sure if this is that unknown these days since apparently it's on Rare Replay, but nobody I knew had ever heard of this game before that.
