It's a fucking designed product. It will age as the ideas of game design change. No one plays Pong anymore because it's too simple, but back in the day that shit was dope as fuck.
Super Mario 64 has some obvious cases of game design commonplace in the early 3D era that has since changed. For example, the game is centered heavily around repeating the same levels with different objectives to maximize the playtime with as few assets as possible, as hardware space grew, collectathons faded away. Super Mario 64 has aged by being an artifact of that time. It doesn't mean it's bad or not fun, but it's aged.
There's more stuff like the primitive camera controls and some levels being designed as just a bunch of geometric shapes and objects thrown into a playing field, but you should get the point if you're not legit retarded.

PVMs ARE Trinitrons, Moron. Even a consumer Trinitron, tweaked, running RGB transcoded to Y/Pb/Pr will blow any progressive scan display out of the water for SD content.
