I kinda like the new moon, even if it is a bit more comical, but there is something about the original one, the eyes look dead and expressionless almost as if the moon is resigned to it's fate of crashing and doesn't actually WANT to do it. Which sorta ties into the derepssing resigning yourself to an unavoidable fate which is MM's vibe. Same with the small mouth with is grimacing but not really in a directly aggressive way.

The new moon is very much IMGONNAGITYA which makes it lose a little appeal since it now looks directly like an antagonist instead of a force of nature. But the separated eyes do make it more creepy.


I'm totally overthinking this.
