tried that and the problem is it's most apparent on dark grays, the darker the gray (without being black) the more noticeable it is. You can probably see the lines best here. Again, ignore the moire pattern and the obvious band in the middle, it's the soft lines going from top-left to bottom-right.

And also after carefully taking off the back of the TV, I noticed a buzzing coming from the neck of the tube. It's not a 15khz whine AFAIK, I can hear that too like any other normal tube TV. Almost sounds like what you'd hear from audio interference from shitty cables, but it's not coming from the speakers and happens without anything plugged in, but also changes depending on what might be displayed. Very weird, not sure if it's related.
