I don't know why everyone disses it, that game's great. The only problem with it is that they skipped it on NES and released it on Game Boy. That's still one of my biggest gaming mysteries, the NES series could've been a kickass hexology and then they put one randomly on Game Boy. It just looks a little off in my collection. Oh well! Still a good game, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

>getting a game over further in the game takes you back further
What retro games out there pull this supreme bullshit move?

I just ragequit Mega Man V on Gameboy for this. The final stage is really long and has a main platforming section with four or five sub-bosses sprinkled throughout, followed by a boss rush of all eight robot masters, followed by a five-stage final battle. Once you make it to the boss rush, every time you game over, you get taken back to the boss rush. But if you beat the boss rush and get to the final battle and game over, you have to do the entire stage all over again.
