I have watched this VHS tape many times back in the day. It's a "making of" donkey kong Country.

Would we be permitted to have a serious discussion about the concept of difficulty in games? I don't see the subject as mutually exclusive to either retro or modern vidya, or any game in particular, but we could decide upon a /vr/-related contextual framework. For example, we could discuss it abstractly while referring to Super Mario World for demonstration or citation. It's just that /v/ really isn't up to task for this in terms of the average intellectual age of the board. We, on the other hand, have real wisdom at our command, and I suspect some insightful remarks to offer.

What are some things about vidya that you don't like?

Personally if a game has a cutscene and it won't let me skip it then I'm just going to skip the entire game. Same with tutorials. I used to tolerate that shit better but my patience has diminished over time. Really it's not even a matter of patience I've just been conditioned to expect bad things from a game when it screws up on the basics.

I also can't stand all the modern DLC and always-online shit. Basically the whole direction the industry's moving in with no sign of ever stopping. And I even dislike the general attitudes of gamers today, thinking certain game mechanics are "outdated" now just because they are old and different compared to the hand-holdy spoon-feedy crap they're used to playing.
