fucking hell, lads. why do I always drop this game? back when I was 8, SMW blew my mind. but for many years I've started it several times, and just dropped it eventually.
I don't even know why. maybe because I've been spoiled by collectathons that keep you hooked with all the stuff to collect. maybe because the challenge varies all over the place—when you find cape + yoshi it gets piss easy, but being small with 1 touch deaths it's pretty damn hard, and you can't even flip blocks next to you. or maybe the graphics are a weird mix between "cool pixel art" and "crappy early SNES game that was drawn in MS Paint".
I just guess I'll have to beat the game with small Mario to keep myself interested, or else, I'm never going to beat it.

Is there a pack with decent SMW hacks? I am too lazy to patch it one by one.

In light of the SM64 decompilation being leaked, why hasn't there been a similar project for this game?
Imagine source ports of SMW and ROM hacks using it. No sprite limits, no slowdown, that's one of the main things Mario Maker has over it so if you source port SMW you pretty much have a limitless Mario engine on PC
