I know what you mean, fusions are fun when you get the hand of them, but soon you'll only be going for THTD, and then the only fusion you'll do is REBD and MD to summon MBD, it's a bummer.

SDD is quite fantastic, and since you've enjoyed TSC it's a good option, since it's based on the same arc. If you ever want to give RoD another shot I'd recommend the ReshefIsActuallyTolerableNow patch, it makes it much more playable.
