You're thinking of the SkyRender/RPGOne version, which everyone, even the original author now, agrees was extremely awful*. *Well, the one good thing about it was that it was a patch for the unaltered Japanese ROM if you want that unique experience and made enhancements and fixes completely optional, but unfortunately the script itself was so bad that it, along with other infamous ones like ZEALITY's Chrono Trigger retranslation, made newer hackers go in the entirely opposite direction, for better or worse.

Rodimus is a known self-absorbed weasel who always announces a "major update" to his version whenever he feels threatened that someone else's project is about to outdo him, which they nearly invariably do except in Dr. Meat's case, but he actually barely does anything worthwhile each time. That obvious mistake (should be "You can talk?" instead of "Can you talk!?"), for instance, is unbelievably STILL present last I checked.
