Yeah, but Brian is probably the worst overall character in the game and Lucky is a close second. They can be good if used well, and are solid B+ tier characters. But everyone else is A tier at least. It's a damn good year.

I've been kind of all over the place over the years. The first one that I was really into wasn't a traditional fighter, Budokan the Martial Spirit on Genesis.

Then in the 90's it was mostly Mortal Kombat 2 once it came along. There was some Street Fighter 2, but I never liked it as much and never really got into it. MK3 was kind of the end for me though, I didn't like it as much as 2 and was also starting to figure out it was fundamentally pretty shitty.

In the 00's I started getting big into King of Fighters on Dreamcast. Mostly '98, a little bit of '99 and then ended up importing 2000, 2001 and 2002 when they came out. Played them all a lot, but '98 and 2002 the most overall, '99 the least. I used just about everyone, but my go to "gotta with this round" team is Iori, Athena, Kim.

Also played some SFIII then as well never liked those as much. They feel more simple than KoF somehow and the lack of teams and the small rosters always made my interest wain.

As well as some SFIII, but never played it seriously.

Now in non-retro territory, KoF went to shit with XII and XIII in my opinion and I dropped it. Meandered around trying other things, into SFIV a while and MK9 a while. Then Injustice came out and it's been my jam ever since. Wonder Woman. All day, every day. Best character in any fighting game in my opinion.

None of which stopped the raids, if anything it just encouraged them more. And with each raid, a few of the people who were getting trolled found their way back here. And seeing how easy it is to troll, set up shop. Every raid bumped poster numbers, every time. And the new posters largely weren't like kind of perverted otaku who had originally come here from 2chan and the like.

Since the raids often targeted places /b/ thought were shit like Stormfront, deviantart or something awful, those are the people who got attracted here. Repeat that a few thousand times all over the internet and you have 4chan as it is today.

All that said, I still like it here and the heart of what always made 4chan good still does. Mr homophobe stormfag can scream and yell all he wants about what a cuckold fag I am for licking another man's spunk off my wife's face, but he can't doing anything about it. And the very fact that he comes here to look at that and get mad is hilarious to me. That's just 4chan for ya.
