The real problem is that you don't really have any fulfilling work or projects going your working on. Maybe do something else that's mentally taxing like writing or drawing or something that requires you to work on something and come up with a finished "thing." You'll eventually get frustrated or bored or feel accomplished in some regard and want to reward yourself with games.
I have a bullshit stupid job at a grocery store + online college right now but I feel like I play more games now than I did when I was a kid because working makes me want to relax with something that isn't work.

A backlog itself is dumb if you treat it like a list of chores. I more or less have one to try and keep a list of games that sounded cool but couldn't check out at the time.
