Ah, now I remember these machines. I used to see them all the time when I was little. An integrated amplifier sounds perfect for what I need. I'll poke around for one with a 3.5mm jack, since that sounds a lot more convenient. Though, I'm starting to get used to the mono speaker. It's a pretty good quality speaker, honestly. I think I might get one of those Y cables to mix the stereo down into mono in the mean time. I want to set up this crt in a back room eventually, make it all comfy.

Yeah! Craigslist is exactly where I got the tv actually. The guy was giving it away for free, was a really rich, nice, neighborhood. Do you have any recommended brands or models to keep an eye out for though?

That sounds pretty nice honestly. I'm super used to the built in speakers in any tv or monitor, even when I was a kid. I had a friend that had a really nice speaker set up, and that was what showed me that things could be a lot better than the built in stuff.
