>Chainsaw: Two blades, more DPS and a little more range, overheats if used too much
>Fists: a little more range, has Baratus combo
>Pistol: More damage and way more accurate. Can maybe use its own ammo supply
>Shotgun: Fire rate increased a little
>SSG: doesn't need a change, but let it gib monsters at close range because that's funny
>Chaingun: Make it the Quake 2 chaingun

I can't think of anything for the rocket launcher because it's just a well rounded weapon. Plasma could do with something as well but that one's a little trickier in my eyes because it competes with the BFG.

I agree with your sentiments on Doom 64's chaingun, the beefier firing sound and cool muzzleflash helps too.
Resetting the player's inventory would certainly helped too, and as much as I think the Super Shotgun is sometimes overpowered, it sure is nice using it to clear out groups of trash monsters or killing cacos with it.
