Both Ps1 and N64 are fine, but the Ps1 has better draw distance, while the N64 Anti-Aliasing makes everything looks "smoother".
Honestly the only wrong way to play is not playing legends at all.
That being said I recommend the Ps1 since it feels more natural to play all 3 games on the same console.

For someone who has never played legends 1 or 2 which system does it play better on? Look best on? Any other important differences? I know n64 was tevhnically superior, but to me it looks much cleaner on the ps1 without the blur, but i realize that also has lower view distances.

The N64 version would've been superior graphically if they'd turned off the blurry texture filtering and just used nearest neighbor like the PS1 version (which, yes, was fully possible to do on the N64, but was a function that was almost never used)
