First, stop thinking you know everything about me and making up silly conclusions. I'm criticizing the way you used resources in that map. I'm not defending this switch being shootable only and out of punch reach.
>That's only counting the first room. You're forgetting the imps in the second room, and there are even more of them. There isn't enough shotgun ammo for the total of the 2 rooms of imps, and since you're already fighting a baron and an archevil in this same 2nd room, while you can hear another archevil in the back, it's logical to use the the pistol to get of the few remaining imps and to save plasma for the rest.
Second, playstyles differ from player to player. I can't even tell how your decision to shoot imps with pistol while there's a plasma gun and plenty of ammo for it on a small sized map looks silly for me. I'm not even counting ~10 shells left from previous small encounter.

Well, ask the mapper why the hell he has put that G1 switch instead of S1 or even why he didn't put a pistol clip or even a zombieman near the shootable switch because who knows what he had on mind while doing this thing which stopped someone's playthrough because said someone didn't play as expected.
