Yes. The differences are huge. It's something you have to try.
Generally I'm totally fine with panels and/or emulation. But CRTs are just something else.

Original hardware + CRT is probably what most people would say is "perfection", I'd say that emulation + CRT is already more than enough for me.
The dithering, the colors, the motion clarity, the latency, the perfect (or near perfect) fit of the image to the aspect ratio, it makes the experience a lot more fun.

If you can, give it a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Plus, even scan line filters can still be useful on CRTs, if you can't or don't want to do 240p for example and use 480p instead. Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Video related is 2560x240@120Hz though in RetroArch.
