As a single player game it's pretty decent. A little easy, but solid goofy fun. It's multiplayer where it really shines. Both in the campaign and arena mode it's an absolute blast.

Most non-rpgs are generally fairly short though. Though most games being longer is one of the things I like about modern gaming. Over all though I couldn't pick whether I like classic or modern games more. I probably play about equal amounts of both.

Well that depends what you think is "quite right". I already play with sharp pixels because it's what I prefer but there's a large number of people who think it looks not right at all. I would expect some graphical weirdness, especially in motion. It already looks like a weird glitchy painting, I'm all over seeing what it looks like as a weird glitchy moving painting.

I'm one of the only people I know whp unironically liked that super eagle filter or whatever it was called in snes9x. I played through most of SD3 with that turned on.

If balanced well that could be fun. Leveling works well in Guardian Heroes because the game is short and there isn't much grinding to be able to do so the enemies stay decently nasty the whole time. Being able to allocate your XP to increase different attributes and all the paths to choose gives it a lot of replay value.

SotN is the other side of the coin where even if you handicap yourself, avoid fighting anything unnecessary and use crappy weapons you still get stupidly overpowered by mid way through.

It's called false-flagging. GH is a very nontraditional beat em up so it's bound to attract the attention of Streets of Rage fans which he hopes will spin off into a Treasure bashing thread. He fucked up though because the game rocks.

GH is significantly different from other games like SoR or FF. All "traditional" games like this bore me senseless, but Guardian Heroes is always fun.

It's okay. Like >>3605885 said it does have a pretty crazy story and is a good deal of fun but it got a little grindy for my tastes.

Guardian Heroes is more like an arcade game, it takes maybe an hour or two to play through and has tons of branching paths. So it's a really fun game for repeated playthroughs, especially if you have friends over.

CoP on the other hand is much much longer which is good in some ways because it has a lot of content, but it makes it less arcadey. If you liked Guardian Heroes though it's definitely worth checking out.

Just get the XBLA/PSN port. It's pretty good.

I really like the game, but it's best with friends. If you like beat em ups you should enjoy it.
