Why is it that whenever I play a game based on the Doom engine that attempts to use all new assets it somehow makes enemies feel nearly impossible to hit? Its like all my shots fly straight through them as they wiggle around left and right. Are the OG Doom enemies secretly super wide or something?

Might have been a performance thing back in the day, nowadays it's probably just skipped because it'd be a pain in the ass.
Plus there's the advantage of easy readability of quickly spotting and identifying enemy corpses.
