Here's my party, I tried to min-max, possibly you can do it even better, but the idea is here, you need a charismatic leader for talking (knight in this case), two monks (virtue is important for any character and it's hard to improve, weapon skills will grow fast for anyone) and an alchemist (he needs some charisma too to trade formulaes, there's a bug in game so you can't just buy healing potion formula, only trade it, and as anon said above it's essential in the endgame dungeons).
Trick with equipment (start with pre-rolled party, then create your new party members one by one and give them the equipment of old timers) saves your time in the beginning, otherwise it can be somewhat frustrating.

Something in-between. 29 for str and end is too low, you probably won't be able to wear plate, while 30 int is too small for the alchemist. For the hardest potions like transformation every point of int will grant extra 1% of success.
Here's my party at the start. I'd have actually redistributed a bit of charisma into str/end to wear full plate if could. You can raise charisma easily with prayers if you decide to trade formulas sometimes while you'll be in combat all the time.

I created a thread about it here half a year ago but stopped playing at a point where I travelled from town to town and killed raubritters around. I had a problem with finding healing potion formula.
Those were my guys at the start, I probably shouldn't have used that starting equipment trick, party went overpowered very quickly.

What would you say?
Hope I didn't fuck up too much anyone because I got tired of creating characters, that was fun though. Probably the best character creation system that I've seen.
