How good is the Wii for emulators?

There's no reason to buy one of these now a days OP. They cost about the same as the original hardware so its just as well to go that route. No doubt that these will be a necessary evil one day when more real hardware has failed and the remaining official hardware becomes a rarity.

As for the people telling you to emulate, they are right, it offers a better experience than cheap clones IMO. One advantage they do have is that they output 240p and are lagless, making them great for CRT. But even that advantage isnt really that big a deal when you consider that a Wii can be purchased for cheap(got mine for 20 bucks at value village) and it outputs at 240p and a number of other resolutions and the emulation for pre ps1 games is damb near perfect as far as I have encountered.

I've been using a Wii with a CRT and component cables to play tg16, genesis, SNES, cps1, etc... The fact that emulates everything I've played perfectly and in 240p, and has no noticeable input latency makes me think that this is the best way to play the classics without getting scalped by a collector to get the originals. I find this even better than flashcarts and hardware. Is there any better way than playing pre PlayStation games than this?

Homebrew 240p Wii is better choice. Older model with Gamecube ports.

Hey /vr/

I'm thinking of putting up a wii with homebrew to emulate NES/SNES/N64 etc, but I have a few questions first.

1. I live in EU, and if I buy a PAL Nintendo Wii, does the games run 50Hz on my TV? Is there a way to make them run 60Hz?

2. I have seen a few how-to videos on installing homebrew, and it seems like I need normal SD card (not SDHC) to install it. The max capacity of normal SD seems to be 2gb. After I have installed Homebrew, can I use SDHC card to move emulators and roms to Wii?

3. What controller should I get? Should it be using the Wii's controller port or usb port?

4. Why isn't there Gamecube emulation for wii?

5. Is it true and what it means Black Wii can only install homebrew IOS or something and White one can do something both.. Weird question but I mean the part 05:40 of the video under.

This is the how-to video I watched:
