there are several modern guns but since this is a relatively niche thing they're either garbage, expensive, require a lot of DIY or a combination of the three
for most use cases its just easier and/or cheaper to get a crt
>the inside-out tracking on my vr headset is rock fucking solid, would easily be as good as or better than old light guns
don't think this is what you're looking for but someone made a vr game room thing that allows to simulate light guns and it works surprisingly well (setup is clunky as fuck though)

Sadly due to the way lcd screens have dominated the scene you don't have a easy way to play light gun games. You would either need the original hardware with a CRT, buy that one expensive lightgun that works with any screen, or invest into VR and get EmuVR.
