they had different goals, so it's hard to compare them and say which is better. N64 had perspective correct interpolation, which let it draw scenes with few triangles, but the triangles were more expensive to render, so the triangles/sec is low. PSX has screen-space interpolation which is cheaper to compute, but entails persepective artifacts when triangles are co-planar with the camera plane, but consequently the PSX had more triangles/sec.

it's taken me a long time to really form a preference, but I ultimately think Sony made the right decisions. nothing on the N64 compares to, say, FFIX's graphics
