What do you need more than six guns for in DRLA? I'd imagine you can edit the files to raise the cap but the last time I played it back in like 2016 it was more often than not fine given what monstrosities you can already get.

Yes and no. Within one hub (which is a level) are multiple areas with an overarching puzzle to solve, you're only given a message telling you how far you are into solving something or what is set off when you make progress. It can be vague, but what grinds my fucking gears about Hexen are the fucking Centaurs. Bloody things just cockblock all of your attacks as long as their shield is up unless Parias or Daedolon use flechettes, and there's even a variant with projectiles. They make the combat even worse and there's up to 344 of the regular ones in the game too, fuck them.
