if you dont play on original hardware, you arent playing the game, at best, youre playing a shitty approximation of it, you might as well just be watching a video of the game at that point. and no matter how much poorfags seethe, emulation will never be anything more than a joke, and emulationfags will never be welcome here.

SNES

Master System (being mostly Sega Arcade ports never really did it for me)

PC-Engine (would say Saturn but emulators is still not really there and buying modding and collecting is too rich for my blood).

SNES or PSX I know it's predictable choice but I really enjoy it's lineup.

Master System not really into the Sega arcade ports but Phantasy Star 1 is such a great fun JRPG dungeon crawler

Been finally looking into TurboGrafx-16. Don't know why but I never really spent any time both real and emulation until now.

This shit was my childhood and I still sometimes find a game that I haven't touched yet and ends up being quality entertainment. What games would /vr/ recommend as a "you have to play this before you die" kind of list -- or, just outside that, the games that DON'T land on every single Top Ten Retro Games clickbait list, things that people might have missed but are still worth playing? Any platform, doesn't matter. I've got a ton of time on my hands for a while and not nearly enough to do with it.

Here I sit with a great gaming PC, more AAA games than I can count, and the most fun I've had lately was a fucking Mario 3 hack.
