MM8 was the first game I played and I know it isn't the best out of the series, but it's still my favourite. It's actually really easy to break it too, since a lot of promotions are easy to get and give you access to OP magic early on. MM7 was much more of a slowburn in my experience, as you had to get much deeper into the storyline before accessing the more broken spells.

MM8 also has my favourite depiction of dark elves out of any series.

More on topic though, is there any point to playing through the other games with the merge mod? I beat MM8 and my party can now nuke the entire map at once.
